Dr. Alexander - Dentist
Dr. Alexander studied Pharmacology at the University of South Carolina from 1965-1970. He graduated from Emory University Dental School in Atlanta, GA in 1974. Dr. Alexander is a general dentist with extensive training in geriatric and nursing home dental care. He has completed training in the use of IV sedation and is ACLS certified. He is married to Jan and they have two daughters, Christina and Heather. Dr. Alexander was an Australian Olympic Swimmer and enjoys sailing/cruising.
Dr. Monahan - Dentist
Dr. Monahan is originally from Albany, Ga. After completing his bachelor of science in chemistry from the University of Georgia in 2004, he was accepted to the Medical College of Georgia Dental School in Augusta, Ga., and graduated in 2008. He worked as a dental associate in Greensboro, N.C., for almost two years. In November 2010, Dr. Monahan decided to become an associate with Dr. Alexander in Burlington. He has worked with Dr. Alexander since January 2011 and has enjoyed getting to know both his patients and his excellent staff.
Dr. Monahan prides himself on providing dental care for the entire family. He enjoys staying up to date on the most current dental trends by attending numerous continuing education courses, including his annual trip to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry meeting. He is also an active member of the ADA, AGD and NCDS.
Dr. Monahan currently resides in Carrboro, N.C., with his wife, Kim. Kim recently received her PhD in genetics from UNC and is currently completing a post-doctoral fellowship program for teaching at the university. They recently welcomed their new baby girl, Deborah, on April 25, 2011, and plan on making their home in the Burlington area in the years to come.
Holly Strout – Dental Assistant
Holly was born and raised in Burlington, N.C. She is a graduate of Western Alamance High School. In 2004, she graduated from the dental assisting program at Alamance Community College, and she has been a dental assistant for 7 years. After college, she married her best friend, Matt, and they live in Elon with their son, Dylan.
Nichole Hadley – Dental Hygienist
Nichole is a 2002 graduate of Southern Alamance High School. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Dental Assisting Program in 2003 and the Dental Hygiene Program in 2006. She has been in Dr. Alexander’s practice since 2008. Nichole and her husband live in Graham and are expecting their first child in the fall.
April Dishner – Dental Hygienist and Scheduling Coordinator
April is a 1991 graduate from Graham High School. She graduated from Alamance Community College in 1997 with a certificate in Dental Assisting and graduated from Guilford Tech in 2000 with a Dental Hygiene degree. She has been employed with Dr. Alexander’s practice since 2005. She married her high school sweetheart in 1994; they have two children and live in Burlington, N.C.
Elizabeth Lewis - Front Desk and Mobile Dentistry Coordinator
Eizabeth graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Alamance Community College in 2000. She started working with Dr. Alexander right after graduation as a chairside dental assistant and now manages his mobile dentistry practice. She is married with two children and enjoys working with elderly patients.
Dayle Blanchard - Dental Assistant
Dayle has been a dental assistant with Dr. Alexander for over 25 years. She graduated from what is now Alamance Community College in 1975. She is married with two daughters and one grandson. She enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, and working in her yard.
Jan Alexander - Office Manager
Jan grew up in the Myrtle Beach, South Carolina area and graduated from the University of South Carolina. She is happily married to her husband Alex and they have 2 wonderful daughters and 1 precious grandson.
Nicole Tervelt - Front Desk
Nicole graduated from the Dental Assisting Program at Alamance Community College in 1996 and has worked as a dental assistant for 15 years. She has been married for 12 years and has 2 children.
